  • Planning & Design

Planning your research project is one of the most important steps to ensuring a successful project. Before you even apply for ethics you’ll need to know your primary research question, your target population, your recruitment strategy, what data you need to collect and what analysis you plan on completing. The last thing you want is to spend all your time and effort gathering data which can’t actually be used to answer your question.

  • Power & Sample Size

Sample size calculations can be quite daunting. There many different ways of calculating sample size and they often need to be completed right at the beginning of a project, e.g. for ethics, when you are still planning your research project. So if you want some guidance, in navigating this we’ve got you covered.

  • Data cleaning & Preparation

One of the largest steps often missing in the project plan is preparing the data for analysis. This step involves reviewing the data collected, ensuring it is stored as the correct data type, managing outliers, managing missing data, as well as sorting, categorising and grouping related variables to best suit your analysis.

  • Basic Analysis

This covers the basic analysis: t-test, ANOVA, Correlation, and Chi Squared analyses. and their non-normal equivalents. These might be used to test your main hypothesis, or maybe to explore some secondary findings.

  • Complex Analysis

Complex analyses are normally used to adjust for, or take into account, other factors which might affect your primary outcome. These methods include multivariate regression, logistic regression, and mixed modelling along with many others.

  • Publication

Publication is a beast, and often you need a little help to cross the finish line and get your work shared with the world. We can help with deciding the best way the present your data and how to forestall or respond to reviewer comments.

Problem Management

We’ve all been there. The plan was good, but somehow its gone a bit pear shaped. Whether you’ve got too many variables, or not enough cases, or something else is amiss. We can let you know your options and help get the best out of the data you have, because we understand that even if it’s not perfect, it might still be important.
